Friday morning, the team started off the day with breakfast at 7:00 a.m. After eating and packing lunches, we headed off for our last day at the school here in Santiago. We spent the morning singing to the kids, telling Bible stories, playing soccer, and enjoying recess with the kids.

Around 11:30, the goodbyes began and gifts were given to each member of the team. We each received a small badge typically given to children in the school who have completed grades 1 through 8. We also each received a small notebook with the school’s name and Proverbs 22:6 printed on the front. The principal of the school told us they will remember us because we are special to them and that they gave us the gifts because they want us to remember them as well.

We ate lunch on the bus as we headed to the next school we would visit- Santiago Christian Academy. At this school, we were able to observe classes and give feedback to the school director. During this time, we were able to ask questions about the school and hear about opportunities to serve there. After this meeting with the school director, the team played some basketball and volleyball. We ate pizza at the school around 6 before heading to a prayer meeting.

It was such a blessing to meet with the church to pray, fellowship, and see their love for each other and for us. It was a reminder that God is at work all across the world through the church. After this long but good day, we returned to camp around 11:45 p.m. and headed straight to bed.
