The group woke up and had breakfast again prepared by Ivan and his family. Following breakfast, the team made their way to the school where they were given treats and snacks from the students. They were also to begin conversing with the students about their lives.
The team proceeded to play with the children at recess by getting involved with basketball, volleyball, and even tag. After the break a select few of the team members helped teach PE with the younger children. During PE, the rest of the team performed our music “concert” for a class selected by the administrators of the school. After the concert concluded, the team integrated themselves into break by playing basketball and volleyball with the kids.
After the break, the team members were able to help with teaching math and participating in a chemistry table of periodic tables matching game. After these fun games, the team enjoyed some spaghetti for lunch. After lunch, a few team members separated to teach a Bible lesson. Once the Bible lesson concluded, the entire team congregated into a classroom where they performed their music “concert” for a second class.
After the second music concert, the team separated once again and taught math/English. The team then played tag with the kids for break and left the school for the day. As a reward for the teams hard work, the leaders took them to a mall to shop and a Chinese restaurant for dinner. As a bonus to the days fun activities, it was also Samuel Winston’s birthday which we were able to celebrate with a delicious Oreo cake at breakfast.
